Banker's Job Saved
This is a follow-up on yesterday's "Red-Handed and Red-Faced" blog. After the public embarrassment that put the job of David Kiely as a client investment manager at the Macquarie Bank in Australia in jeopardy for looking at dirty pictures at work, he has received a lot of public sympathy to save his job, notably by the Save Dave campaign. The reasons given to forgive him are: - He seems like a nice bloke.
- The pics weren't hardcore.
- He has suffered enough.
- There's just too much political correctness in this world anyway.
Update: The bank has just issued this statement, "David Kiely will remain an employee of Macquarie. We apologize for any offence that may have been caused."
