Perspective on Martin Luther King Day
I am old enough to remember the “bad old days” and look at this day differently than many others do. MLK Day really has not caught on, and that is because is dream is not fully realized. Don’t get me wrong, today is imminently better than it was when I was a kid. Nowadays, intolerance is not tolerated. A Senator is in trouble for using the word “Negro.” Heck, when I was a teen, anyone who used that word was called a flaming liberal and probably a Communist to boot. The word used by most then started with the same letter.
Make no mistake, the Civil Rights Movement was a war, and one that was fought with bloody battles. It was a war that made this country finally live up to its founding documents and beliefs. Nonetheless, there are still skirmishes and will be until my generation, and my children’s generation is laid in the grave.
My granddaughter just turned five, and my dream is that when taking US History, she has a real problem trying to understand the why things were that way. That judging people by the color of their skin is just an alien concept.
Take a moment this day, and realize that many people believed in the greatness of this country and were willing to fight for it. Among those I include Dr. King. And for those who say one person cannot make a difference, then I give you Rosa Parks.
Ramblings
Sorry I have been kind of quiet as of late. Lots going on in my life, and I have been the one to deal with the issues. With all of this going on, oddly, and not in a planned matter, I connected with a lady who offers her services. We will be visiting together for the first time Thursday. I will not go into details, they are not really that interesting. The key is that whilst this has been a very stressful time, the normal "first date" jitters are not there. I look forward to meeting a friend. In truth, were we to spend our time simply in discussion, I would be fine. Mind you, I hope for much more. If nothing else, I hope for a time, to put this world aside, and simply live for my and my partner's pleasure. To lose ourselves in each other. I have found in my hobbying life that there are two major types of escort experiences, aside from rip off. With some ladies you make love, and with others you fuck. Mind you, both are necessary and good. Just different approaches. Thursday I think will be making love. This is probably what I need right now. No resolutions for the new year, save to meet with a certian Bears fan. Have a wonderful New Year
Women and Medicine
Ok, maybe I'm getting too sensitive, but there have been two medical annoncements of late that have set me to a wondering. The first was that women under 50, no longer need mamograms. The second, was that women under 21 no longer need a pap test. I am far from a medical person, but I find it odd that there is no study saying men need not get as many PSTs or other, male oriented, testing. Am I seeing a gender bias here? Are we saying that women's health is not as important as male health?
Lessons Learnt
In April 2006, I visited an escort for the first time since the 1970's. I learnt a lot in that session, and have learnt much more since then. I figured it was time to share some of my discoveries. I must admit that I took a sociology course in college, and have been analyzing things every since. It is a mania. 1. Escorts do not sell sex, the sell illusion which may or may not include sex. 2. The price of an escort has nothing to do with her talents in bed. It is based on perceived beauty, location, and a bit of ego. 3. Sexual talent, like playing the violin is a learnt through much practice. If you want the girl of your dreams, choose a 20 year old. If you want sex that is beyond anything you've ever dreamt of, choose a 45 plus lady. 4. Just because a woman is a sexual professional, i.e. escort, does not mean she knows how to kiss. 5. There are two types of people, givers and receivers. The majority of escorts are givers. When the client is a giver as well, there can be some awkwardness. 6. In the modern world, gentlemen seem to be underrated, but not so in the escort world. 7. Squirting is not a myth. 8. There are some pretty sick guys out there. Hopefully I am not counted as one of them. 9. With a trusted escort, you can be yourself, and that may be the greatest treat of all. 10. Women seem to believe that candle light makes sex better. Not sure why, but I've given up arguing. 11. There is no such thing as a standard blow job. Each woman has her own unique style. 12. If you ask the lady to dress in a way that turns you on, you will have a good time. If you ask her to dress in a way that makes her feel sexy, you will have a great time. 13. I still believe that the small of a woman's back is way underrated in the sexual game. 14. The smell of soap on clean skin is an escort's favorite cologne. 15. Showering with the lady is good clean fun. I am sure there are more, but I will end the list here. Anybody have any additions?
